I’m Steve.

I’m a 64 year old working class bloke from Sheffield in South Yorkshire.

I have always thought that everyone has a book to write or a picture they should paint. It doesn’t matter what others think, you should still do it.

My grandad, Harry Hill, not the comedian but a gentleman who having had a few strokes started to paint in his later years. Harry and a few artists such as Vincent Van Gogh and Edward Hooper have always inspired me, but my painting is my style which I presume is classed as impressionist.

I only really started in the Covid lockdown. Not being able to visit a Greek Island that first year really affected me. We really love Greece and have visited so many times and never visited the same place twice but we fell in love with Symi and have been back eight times now.

Symi is magical and inspires you with it’s beauty and because I could not visit during the Covid lockdown I started to paint to show my love of the island.

I’ve ventured into Laser cutting and I don’t know where this will lead but any feedback would be great. I’ve started with some standard stuff but I’m working on some of my own designs, Symi type stuff to begin with.
